UPDATE: John has been found.

Cops are 'growing' concerned about the whereabouts of a missing man from Glasgow.

John Hughes was last seen at the junction of Cathedral Street and Castle Street in the city at around 9pm on Thursday, February 22.

The 62-year-old is described as being 5ft 5inch tall, slim build, has dark hair and a beard.

He was wearing a grey waist-length jacket, black jogging trousers, and blue Nike trainers with white soles.

On top of that, officers say John can 'often feel disorientated and his mobility is restricted which can affect his walking'.

As part of their investigation into the search, police have been checking CCTV images from in and around the area.

Inspector Ryan Curran said: "Our concern for John is growing and his family is understandably worried.

"I am appealing to anyone who may have seen him or have any information on where he could be to contact us.

"In particular, I would ask taxi drivers, bus drivers and other motorists with dash cam equipment, who have been in the High Street area, to check their images as there could be footage which would assist us in locating John."

A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 3856 of February 22, 2024."
