A cheeky undertaker is sure to set some pulses racing with a saucy calendar - showing naked models posing in COFFINS.

The racy wall planner - inspired by the classic Pirelli Calendar - was created by coffin manufacturer Lindner to help boost sales - and shows busty beauties baring all while 'modelling' afterlife wear.

The calendar, which is produced every year, shows stunning models lying in the company's range of eco-friendly coffins.

One of the coffins even has enough room for two, as a pair of brunette beauties cuddled-up together with a bushel of apples, for the September entry in the nature-themed calendar.

For the first time, the entire calendar was shot by a female photographer, as Joanna Czaczkowska got behind the lens to showcase the Polish models and polished caskets.

Zbigniew Lindner (Double Corr), founder of the Polish company Linder, came up with the idea to produce the cheeky calendars in 2009.

The Pirelli Calendar is the world's most famous topless calendar, and features artistic shots of famous models and actresses such as Kate Moss and Penelope Cruz.

Lindner are planning to sell around 15,000 calendars, which is now in its ninth edition.

A spokesperson said: "Our 2018 calendar is a great return to nature.

"When we were planning the calendar, we set off in search of peace, silence, nature and the warmth of the sun.

"Death is a natural part of life, and we feel that these pictures showcase the proximity of nature."

The producer of the calendar was noted Polish artist Robert Trojanowski, and the pictures were taken by Krakow-based photographer Joanna.

The spokesperson added: "The biggest sensation is that for the first time in our calendar's history, we looked at beauty through a woman's eye.

"We felt the best way to show the beauty of a woman and an exclusive casket was to look through a woman's eye.

"We've had people say that you can almost hear the joyful singing of birds when looking at the calendar.

"It's best enjoyed resting in the shade of a leafy tree, laying your head on the green grass."

The coffin-makers have come under fire in the past for being 'insensitive' but they insist it's all a bit of light-hearted fun.

Founder Zbigniew said: "So much work goes into our coffins that are only seen for a few moments at the funeral.

"We wanted to show that a coffin shouldn't be a sacred object - it's furniture, it's the last bed you'll ever sleep in.

"We enjoy showing our beautiful coffins, and what better way than including beautiful girls.

"Our coffins are natural but you can't find them growing in fields.

"Someone must manufacture them and someone sells them, someone buys it.

"Everybody needs a coffin eventually.

"Many people make a living off death - the Church, coffin makers, hearse drivers, florists, undertakers, funeral homes etc.

"We just want to have some fun."
