Running In Traffic features Bafta-winning Bryan Larkin, Polish TV actress Anna Kerth, Kenneth Cranham, Atta Yaqub and Anne Downie.
Now in the final stages of filming, the cast and crew have taken over a number of locations in and around the city, including Careys - which is next to a police station in Pollokshaws - as well as George Square and the Halt Bar, Woodlands.
The film, due to be released early in 2009, traces the paths of two characters whose lives are marred by loss.
It is written by Bryan Larkin, 34, from East Kilbride, who has starred in Rebus and Red Machine.
The said: "I'e been writing the script for about 18 months and developing it with director Dale Corbett for around six months.
"It is semi-biographical because it was written after my own experience of losing my father."
One of the most poignant scenes, which was shot at the end of last week, shows a broken-hearted Kayla (Anna Kerth) travelling around George Square at Christmas time on a bus.
Careys becomes the location for Joe to visit a barman who sells more than alcohol.
The crew also took over the Halt bar to shoot a meeting between Joe (Larkin) and Bill, the father he never had, played by Kenneth Cranham.
