The Tour de France winner and Olympic men's time trial champion will be gearing up to take the Commonwealth title at Glasgow 2014.

Bradley Wiggins began his career as a track cyclist before moving onto roads. He won six gold medals at the track world championships between 2003 and 2008, including three in the individual pursuit and one in the Madison. He also won three Olympic golds in the individual and team pursuits.

After the 2008 Olympics, Wiggins took a break from the track to focus on the road. In 2009 he came fourth in the Tour de France and in 2011 he claimed his first victory in a major stage race in the Criterium du Dauphine.

In 2012 he became the first British cyclist to win the Tour de France.

Following his success, he received the Velo d’Or award for rider of the year, the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award and a knighthood in the 2013 New Year Honours list.
