The revamp of George Square has been one of the most talked about projects in Glasgow.

The designs by the companies taking part in the international competition to redesign the Square were revealed on Wednesday. The winning design will be announced on Friday, January 18.

Fountains, pavilions, wooded areas, installations, reworking of its statues and a tartan surface are among some of the proposals.

The redesign aims to revamp the square ahead of the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
