RUNNING a 5K to raise money for charity wasn't enough of a challenge for Robert Sharp, so he decided to do it every day for a year.
On Saturday at the first men's 5K in Glasgow, Robert clocked up the miles as he neared the halfway point in his mission.
The 58-year-old, from Airdrie, has been a long-time supporter of the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, which is the charity partner of the 5K race at Bellahouston Park, part of the bigger annual Men's 10K Festival.
"I started on January 1 and it's been going well. I do some runs at the gym in Coatbridge and others along a route near my house," said Robert, who works for North Lanarkshire Council.
"Last year I did a 5K for 50 days and that gave me the idea of running for a full year. I couldn't think of a better cause than the hospice. I was hoping to raise £1 for every kilometre and get in £1825 but I'm actually ahead of that already."
