CELTIC defender Efe Ambrose claims he wants to realise his football dream at Celtic - by winning a European trophy.

The Nigerian internationalist has now won three titles with the SPFL Premiership champions since he joined the Glasgow club from Israeli side Ashdod in 2012.

As well as his league triumphs, Ambrose completed his own domestic treble this season by clinching the League Cup, adding to his Scottish Cup credit from 2013.

However, it doesn't appear enough to satisfy the ambitious 26-year-old, who has now set his sights on sampling glory on the continent with Celtic.

He said: "I have won all the available trophies in Scotland. My next target is to replicate this success in European competition. I want to help my team make this happen."

As well as plotting his next success at Parkhead, Ambrose was keen to pay tribute to the people he believes are behind his trophy-laden spell at Celtic.

He said: "I am very happy to win the league again. I am dedicating it to my mum Alice."

Meanwhile, Gary Mackay-Steven has spoken of his pride at winning his first title. The winger moved from Dundee United to Celtic in the January window and has been an instant hit with supporters.

"It's been amazing," he said. "Obviously one of the main reasons I came here was to win trophies and to get my first one is special.

"It's a little bit surreal, but I think it will hit home when we collect the trophy in the last game of the season. It will be incredible to have the medal and the trophy."
