CELTIC are about to add another striker to their armoury.

But, despite a lack of firepower proving to be their downfall in the Champions League, the identity of the new arrival might not meet with universal approval.

Mo Bangura is the man about to head back to Parkhead after his year-long loan spell with Elfsborg comes to an end.

The Swedish club are still involved in the group stages of the Europa League, having been knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Celtic.

They play Salzburg tonight, then complete their fixtures with a trip to Standard Liege on December 12.

Elfsborg are already out of contention for a place in the last 32 after taking one point from their first four matches.

Hoops boss Neil Lennon has confirmed that the Sierra Leone striker - who cost the Parkhead club £2.2million when he signed a four-year deal on moving from AIK in August 2011 - will then return to Glasgow.

There had been serious doubts cast over Bangura's future as a Hoops player after he upset his parent club - and a number of its players - by playing against them for Elfsborg in the Champions League third qualifying round.

However, Lennon has revealed that the plan is still to bring him back. And he hopes the 24-year-old - who also spent five months with AIK on loan last year - will be better placed to make a contribution to the side.

Bangura scored seven goals in 34 appearances for Elfsborg this season as they failed to retain their title.

Lennon said: "The loan was to get Mo some experience and give him some games. I think he has done quite well while he has been over there."

The Bhoys have already recruited 20-year-old Icelandic striker, Holmbert Fridjonsson, who will arrive next month after signing on a four-year deal from Fram FC.

But, while Fridjonsson and Bangura will add numbers to the attacking options, Lennon has made it clear the search is under way to find a proven striker who can be the clinical finisher his side badly needs.
