CELTIC could be less than 24 hours away from being crowned SPFL champions after they moved 11 points clear at the top of the league last night.

Ronny Deila's side thrashed Dundee 5-0, a result that gives them the chance to crack open the bubbly this weekend.

Aberdeen must beat Dundee United at Tannadice tomorrow afternoon or else Celtic will be crowned champions with three games remaining.

Goals from Leigh Griffiths, Scott Brown, Kris Commons, James Forrest and a cracker from Nir Bitton gave the Parkhead side a thrilling 5-0 win with those inside Celtic Park in celebratory mode as the evening came to a close.

The Hoops were ruthless in possession and from the minute Griffiths headed Celtic in front there was no way back into the game for Paul Hartley's side.

Skipper Brown netted a fine second and as Celtic headed into the break the points were already assured.

Commons got in on the act when he netted a third from the spot before Forrest enjoyed a late cameo appearance, drilling home the fourth before Bitton rounding with an audacious 40-yard chip.

Deila heads home to Norway first thing tomorrow morning for a family celebration but he will be looking to toast Dundee United this afternoon.
