RONNY DEILA is confident of adding reinforcements to his side before the crunch Europa League ties with Inter Milan in February.

And top of his shopping list is tying up a deal for striker John Guidetti.

Celtic have agreed a fee with Manchester City for the player, but it remains to be seen if personal terms can be sorted with the 22-year-old Swede.

And while Deila has assured the Hoops support the club are doing everything they can to keep the player who has scored 11 goals since his arrival at the club this summer, he is also optimistic that there could be further signings in January, although he is wary of losing players, too.

"You never know in football," said the Celtic manager. "Everything has its price. I expect that we will be stronger on February 1 than we are now and that's the main thing.

"Guidetti will be able to play in the Europa League and that will add to the positive attitude. I hope he will sign the contract!

"It's going on. We're talking and have an arrangement with the agent, so it's going the right way. The fans should know we're really working hard on this."

Guidetti hobbled up the tunnel during the 4-1 weekend win over St Mirren, but any fears of a significant injury appear to have been ruled out.

"I haven't heard anything, and when I don't hear anything, I think it's good," said the Celtic boss. "They tested the knee after the game and said that it was a tackle, not a twist. I'm not worried. He'll train tomorrow."

And Deila is also hoping the glamour tie against Inter Milan could entice some of the players at the club to stay.

"I think so," he said. "And the players who are going to be the best will think of sport instead of money. Money comes because you perform well and because you love football, not the other way around.

"You put football and how to develop first and the money will come after that. I've seen it so many times, the same story. You can really see the players who think the right way - and that's hopefully what my players will want to think."

Celtic's second leg against Inter Milan will be Deila's first visit to the San Siro, and the Hoops boss has insisted he will not be intimidated by either the venue or the opposition.

"That's going to be huge, but I'm going there to win - that's the most important thing," he said. "I'm not going to sit in the stands.

"You go into the game to win and go through. That's what it's all about it. Inter are not what they were four years ago. They've changed a lot of players and they're going to be build up a new team, so we have a fair chance there.

"We need to improve a lot for these games and I expect that we're going to improve. That's what we'll do in the next few weeks."
