CELTIC have fired a 'No Firesale' warning to predators circling to try and snatch Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper at bargain prices.

The Hoops have made it clear they are sticking to the valuation they have placed on the top.

And, with Southampton having bid £12.5m for Wanyama, only for the move to break down because of agent's demands, and Norwich having had a £5m offer for Hooper rejected as not enough, the price on the head on both men is clear for all to see. Everton are now reported to have joined the race for Wanyama.

But, Southampton have re-opened negotiations with the Kenyan's advisors.

Although Cardiff last week made it know they were walking away after having an improved offer worth £11m knocked back by Celtic, Malky Mackay's newly-promoted club are expected to come back with one final shot at landing the 22 year-old midfielder.

Celtic will sit tight, secure in the knowledge Wanyama still has two years of his contract to run.

They believe his value is likely to go up rather than down, at least until January's transfer window closes - especially if he can help them get back into the Champions League and has another eye-catching campaign in that competition.

Neil Lennon said the valuation they have placed on Hooper, believed to be at least £7m, should not be down-sized because he is now in the final year of his contract.

The Hoops boss believes any player who can average more than 25 goals a season, as Hooper had done in his three years at Parkhead and in the two seasons he spent at Scunthorpe befor he came north for £2.4m, does not become worth less because he can move on for free a year down the line.

Hull, QPR, Reading and Norwich are monitoring the Hooper situation hoping to see some break in Celtic's resolve.

But, given how highly they regard their top scorer, and bearing in mind Scunthorpe stand to receive a sizable sell-on fee when he is transferred, they would rather hold onto him than allow him to move on for a knock-down fee.

Lennon said: "I don't think the value of a player of his ilk drops just because he has a year left.

"He's worth a lot of money to us."
