CELTIC captain Scott Brown insists there will be no fear on Celtic's part - no matter who they get in this afternoon's Europa League draw.

The Parkhead side will find out their fate when the draw for the last 32 takes place and with some heavyweight names in the hat - Everton, Inter Milan and Napoli are among the teams that Celtic could get while a grudge match against Legia Warsaw could also be a possibility - Brown is looking forward to hearing who Celtic are paired with.

And the Scotland captain has called upon his team-mates to rise to the occasion. He said: "We have shown through the years in European games here in the Champions League and Europa League that we can live with some of the best teams there are out there.

"It is important that you are mentally right and we should not fear any team.I don't think we ever have. When Celtic Park is full, the atmosphere is superb and we can live with anyone.

"You have to believe in your own ability. Here at Celtic Park with the crowd behind us there is always a feeling in the dressing room that you can do anything - and we have shown that in the past with some of the results that we have had in European competitions.

"It will be hard because when you get to this stage of the competition, the teams that you can come up against are going to have a bit about them You don't get through the group without being a good team and we will also have to contend with those teams that are coming out of the Champions League.

"It will be hard. We want to stay in it as long as possible. We don't want to talk about what we might do, we just want to take it step by step and see where it leads us."

Brown was an influential figure for Celtic in their 4-1 win over St Mirren yesterday, chipping in with two first-half goals.

Manager Ronny Deila said afterwards that Celtic could have ended up "winning by 10", but he was reluctant to be overly-critical in the aftermath of a relatively sound win.

Brown, though, is well aware Celtic could be more clinical in front of goal.

He added: "Winning games is always going to be the main thing and we need to keep doing that. We know that we can get better and we can build on it, but the main thing is that we can see we are getting better all the time.

"We scored four goals against St Mirren but we could have had a few more. Most importantly, though, I think is that we are creating the chances. If you are doing that then you are doing something right."

And Brown is optimistic the forthcoming winter break will give Celtic the chance to re-energise themselves as they prepare for the latter half of the campaign.

"It definitely makes a difference to you," he said. "I got four or five days off last week because the rest of the lads were away to Zagreb and I really felt the benefit of that yesterday.

"It gives your body a bit of time to rest and you feel fresher when you get back out. I think the seasons when we have had the break have been better for everyone because the pitches get a chance to rest and surfaces are better. Players have also got a bit more to give."
