CELTIC should learn today the fate of an appeal to sanction the loan signing of John Guidetti from Manchester City.
The SFA have appealed to Fifa on behalf of the Hoops to ratify the signing of the 22-year-old Swede on Monday night.
Guidetti's transfer was initiated but not completed before the deadline.
The SFA agreed to put the case to the governing body on the grounds that "Celtic FC began uploading the relevant documentation prior to the midnight deadline".
The Scottish champions had completed a deal on the same night for Stefan Scepovic, the 24-year-old Serb, in a £2.2m move from Sporting Gijon.
Last night some of the Hoops first-team players not on international duty took part in a charity match against Villarreal in Spain.
A header by Beram Kayal and a 30-yard strike by Jo Inge Berget had the young Celtic XI 2-0 up at half-time but the Spaniards hit back to win 4-2, with Gerard scoring all four.
Also last night, Celtic striker Holmbert Fridjonsson - now on a season-long loan with Danish side Brondby - scored twice as Iceland's Under-21s beat Armenia 4-0 in a Euro qualifier.
Meanwhile, a number of Celtic's SPFL Premiership fixtures have been rearranged due to the club's involvement in the Europa League, which involves ties on Thursdays.
League games moved a day back are: Celtic v Motherwell (now Sunday, September 21, 3pm), Celtic v Hamilton Accies (Sunday, October 5, 3pm), Celtic v Kilmarnock (Sunday, October 26, 3pm), Aberdeen v Celtic (Sunday, November 9, TBC), Celtic v St Mirren (Sunday, December 14, 3pm).
