MARK HILL reckons Celtic's winning mentality shone through at Hampden as the Hoops kids lifted the Glasgow Cup on Tuesday night.

The midfielder joined Josh Kerr on the score sheet at the National Stadium as Tommy McIntyre's side clinched a deserved win over Rangers.

Celtic saw off their Old Firm rivals to win back the silverware at Parkhead twelve months ago and Hill was delighted to make it two-in-a-row.

He said: "We dominated the first half and we were told at half-time to just go and do the same thing but score some goals.

"We had to be patient, try to break them down and go down the side to try to get some crosses in.

"We just had to keep going the way we were going and when the goal came it was a relief, really.

"After winning it last year, we wanted to do it again. That's what the first team needs to do and we are the same.

"For us it's about development but also winning games. It's always good to win a final and that's just as important."

After helping Celtic to Hampden glory, Hill will now look to inspire Scotland when he jets out to Bulgaria next week.

The Under-17 side face France, Greece and Russia in tricky European Championship clashes but the Parkhead kid and his Hoops team-mates will make the trip in high spirits.

Hill said: "We've got a hard group in the Championships but after winning this it'll gear a few of us up for that.

"Hopefully we keep playing the same way, we get some goals and beat the other teams to qualify.

"We want to get through the group and you always aim to go further. Hopefully we can do that and try to win it."
