DERK BOERRIGTER has warned Celtic they must find a killer touch to survive in the cut and thrust of the Champions League.
And the Dutchman would love the chance to show he can be their lethal weapon to gun down Barcelona at Celtic Park.
He said: "We've got a lot of games left, so I think we can win some to remain in the Champions League, and that's what we have to do. But, in this group, you have to kill. You have to try to make every shot on goal go in because, if you don't, at this level teams can hurt you in seconds. If we'd scored one of the chances we created then things would have been completely different.
"They scored out of nowhere, and that made it difficult to take.
"But what makes it most difficult to take is that we had so many opportunities. We could and should have scored, but we let them off."
The flying winger was thrown on for the final 15 minutes of Wednesday's opening Group H tie against AC Milan as Neil Lennon went for the jugular in the San Siro.
In the end, they were picked off by two late strikes, and left to lick their wounds. Boerrigter reckons there is no time for, nor point in, feeling sorry for themselves.
He is already turning his attention to beating Barca when they come to Glasgow in a fortnight, and is unconcerned by their 4-0 demolition of his previous club, Ajax.
"Barcelona are a very good team," conceded the winger. "But last season Celtic beat them in Glasgow, so it shows it can be done.
"I saw some of the highlights (of Barca's win) on the big screen at half-time on Wednesday, and Ajax created some chances."
For all the credit Celtic brought back with them from Italy, they did not return with any points.
And Boerrigter made no attempt to hide the fact that's all that matters.
He said: "It was an unnecessary defeat. We can take positives, but the most important thing is the points.
"I'd rather play bad and win than play well and lose."
