JOHN GUIDETTI will remain part of Ronny Deila's plans - and could even figure against Dundee United this weekend.

The on-loan Swedish striker has upset a lot of Celtic fans by admitting to Dutch journalists he would like to join Feyenoord.

Deila admits the 22-year-old has not been a regular starter in recent weeks because his form "is not good enough".

The manager insisted he did not figure in last night's shock 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone because of an ankle injury picked up in training.

There is no hiding the fact Deila is disappointed Guidetti has refused to accept the contract Celtic have offered him.

But the Hoops boss will not cut his nose off to spite his face.

And, with a Treble still his target, he will continue to try to get the best out of the striker in the remainder of the time he is at the club.

Asked if he has given up trying to persuade Guidetti to sign because he believes his mind is elsewhere, Deila said: "I don't know because I haven't spoken to him for a few days.

"But I understand he has been saying something in the press again about Feyenoord, or something.

"That will have to be up to him. I don't know if that is right or not.

"He will be here for the rest of the season, and we are really going to get the best out of him in these last months."

Deila accepts that, as a free agent in the summer, the man on loan from Manchester City is entitled to speak to other clubs.

He said: "It's his right to do that. He has to do what is best for him

"But now, he and I have to be professional and do the job here at Celtic.

"If he is not injured, he can be involved on Sunday."

Deila knows he needs to refresh his side for this weekend's Scottish Cup quarter final tie against Dundee United, for which Stuart Armstrong and Gary-Mackay Steven are ineligible.

He believes that there has been a delayed reaction from the trip to Milan last week, even though they crushed Aberdeen at the weekend.

Deila is convinced complacency played no part in last night's defeat - the first points they have dropped this year.

He said: "There is no complacency here. We said after the weekend win that it is not over.

"But we are still in a good position.

"Everyone can understand what is happening.

"It was lack of energy. We could not move as quickly as we normally do, and St Johnstone scored with their only chance.

"We didn't score with out chances, so it was always going to be tough."

The one consolation for Deila is that this blip occurred in a league game and not a cup tie, which would have meant the end of their Treble dream.

He said: "It's important that it didn't happen in a cup match.

"But, the league is always the most important thing for us, so we are disappointed and must now move on.

"We hope to have Kris Commons available for Sunday's game, but we will have to wait and see how he is tomorrow."
