RONNY DEILA is ready to close the blinds on the transfer window - at least for the next 36 hours.

The Celtic manager does not want anything to distract him from the most immediate and important business, steering his side back to the top of the league.

So, while negotiations to bring in more players, and retain key ones already here, continue in the background, Deila will focus fully on getting three points against Motherwell tomorrow night and leapfrogging Aberdeen into No.1 spot.

He is aware all eyes will be on whether or not Kris Commons and John Guidetti figure in his starting XI as their futures remain unclear.

But Deila will do what he believes is best for the club, not any individual

"I have to concentrate on the games," said the Norwegian.

"But I have a job to do in the window as well, so we will see what is happening."

Deila does not, however, feel the need to speak to his players and warn they must not allow anything to distract them.

"They are used to this now, and I'm used to it as well.

"They know we are going to keep the players we have and, hopefully, bring some in as well."

Despite reports Saturday was going to be his last game for the club, Commons remains very much part of the squad and Deila said: "I still think a deal can be done. I haven't given that up.

"The situation is very clear. We want him, and he wants to stay.

"It's hard to say how apart we are. But we're in negotiations, so we'll see what's happening."

Deila remains confident, however, that, if there is a parting of the ways, it will not happen any time soon.

"He's not leaving in January," the manager reiterated. "We have to win the league.

"He's a good player, and we want to keep the best ones."

Immaterial of the success in his quest to recruit new faces - Israeli striker Tal Ben Haim remains a possibility to join Gary Mackay-Steven in signing up - Deila is confident the squad is going to be strengthened within the next few days as more of the injured players come back into contention.

"Everyone is back training," Deila is relieved to finally report. "That is what we have been working towards.

"Anthony Stokes, Charlie Mulgrew, and Mikael Lustig are back. And so is Derk Boerrigter training again.

"Now it is only Tom Rogic who is not, so there is going to be a lot of competition for places."

The collateral damage from this has been felt by a few kids who had hoped they might be able to burst through.

Paul George and Marcus Fraser - who both figured under Neil Lennon - have been released, while Stuart Findlay has been loaned to Dumbarton.

Deila believes it is best for all involved, and will continue to review his squad to see if there are any other who would benefit from such a move.

He said: "We have to do the best for each player so we can get the best from them."
