ANTHONY STOKES' late arrival back for training after a visit to Ireland is not an issue for Ronny Deila - it's a problem for the player himself.

Ronny has shown he can handle such an incident quickly and firmly.

It did not affect his focus last week as he prepared his squad to face Inter.

Anthony - and the rest of the the squad - were left in no doubt Ronny simply won't tolerate such behaviour.

Sure, the manager said Anthony was left out for the Inter game, and Sunday's win over Hamilton, because of the competition for places.

That's true to a certain extent, because, if he did not have viable options to step in, it would not have been so easy to leave Anthony out altogether.

Let's hope the message has got through because this is not the first time this player has had to be disciplined.

But is there a future for him at Celtic? He has put that in jeopardy.

I'd imagine it's now very much down to how Anthony reacts.

He can take the huff and look for a way out.

Or he can knuckle down and show in training every day he knows he has done wrong and that he is going to work hard to get back into the manager's plans.

Leigh Griffiths looked to be heading for the exit not so long ago, but he improved his attitude and has been given his reward with more regular games.

If it becomes a battle of wills between Anthony and Ronny, there is only going to be one winner.
