I think everyone, myself included, was delighted at the news that Scott Brown has signed a new four-year contract.

It shows you what it means to him to play for Celtic, however I believer that has been evident in his play over the last few years.

He's grown from a young and inexperienced player at Hibs to then become captain at Celtic.

He has controlled his discipline in the hole which was always a negative to his impressive game.

Scott has not lost that aggression, he has just managed to control it and that's the difference over the last season or so.

As mentioned in my preview of Thursday's game, he has grown to become Celtic's most influential player. That is obviously good for him but it's fantastic for his team-mates and the supporters who have come to rely on him in recent times.

Ronny Deila calls him Mr Celtic and you can see why. It's great news that he has decided to commit himself to Celtic until 2018.

At the age of 29, a new four-year deal will pretty much secure him at Parkhead for the rest of his career.

There was interest a few weeks ago that clubs down south were interested in him, and at least this now gives the club a bit of security.

You never know what can happen in football, but everyone is happy.
