LET'S hope the TV cameras remain focused on what is happening on the pitch at the San Siro tonight, and don't have any cause to pan into the stands.

The news Uefa have handed Celtic their sixth fine in five years, for crowd behaviour during the game in Zagreb in December, has to be a concern for all connected with the club.

Whatever the rights and wrongs that night, this latest fine has once again thrown the spotlight on Celtic for all the wrong reasons.

So many people have worked so hard to build up a good reputation, especially away from home.

They are being badly let down by a minority who refuse to behave acceptably, and, unfortunately, they are the ones who are being noticed.

I don't know what more the club can do.

They have appealed for these fans to stay away. They've warned them of the consequences if they misbehave.

They have sent their own stewards abroad to try and prevent any trouble. But still it happens.

There are calls for self-policing, and this has helped in the past.

I recall when casuals tried to get a foothold at Celtic, the decent fans made sure they were kept out.

But it's a big ask for someone to challenge anyone who is hell-bent on behaving in an unacceptable manner, especially if they are unwilling or unable to listen to reason.

Modern technology can help because phones can be used to capture evidence which can then be handed to the relevant authorities, as happened with Chelsea fans in the Paris metro last week.

Every resource available has to be embraced to prevent Celtic's reputation being tarnished any more than it already has.
