Dandy Dons no match for Celtic's champs

For most of the campaign Aberdeen have been flying high. However, looking at the table now, I don't believe the Hoops will throw the title away from their current commanding position.

I think with the calibre of player they have compared to the opposition it is just a matter of time before they win the league.

I know Ronny Deila and the players won't admit that and they will say they still need to keep picking up points, which is true, but I definitely think it is there for the winning.

The gap is currently sitting at seven points as a result of Aberdeen drawing two out of their last three games, and it may be that they have just run out of steam.

Derek McInnes' has done well with his team and they have given Celtic a game in that they have almost kept up with them this far into the season.

But they have not had the squad to give Ronny and his players a real challenge, to be honest.

Celtic's resources are far greater than Aberdeen's, that's in no disrespect to the Pittodrie club. It is just the way it is.

There have been bumps along the way and wee patches where you thought Aberdeen may be able to pull something off, but that was as much down to Celtic's stuttering form as it was with the Dons' surge.

Of course they will be disappointed to have dropped points recently, but Aberdeen can be pleased with getting their highest league position for a good few years.

Ultimately the calibre of their squad this season just doesn't quite stack up with Celtic's, and that's why I think it will be the Glasgow club celebrating their fourth championship title in a row.
