Davie Hay gives his verdict on his most memorable European night at Celtic Park

J HANNAH from Bishopbriggs asked Davie what was his most memorable European night at Celtic Park?

I think it would probably be the night we beat Fiorentina 3-0 in the first-leg, quarter-final of the European Cup in 1970. It was an incredibly assured display against a team who were really at the top of their game.

Bertie Auld scored twice and Willie Wallace scored but overall it was just a very commanding performance from start to finish from us. We went through 3-1 on aggregate and made it to the final that season.
