THE Premiership title race could reach a thrilling climax this weekend ...

and that would be fantastic.

But I have a sneaking suspicion Aberdeen will keep it going for another week - at least - by winning against Dundee United at Tannadice tomorrow.

I also have a feeling the Dons would then get their first win of the season against Celtic to delay Ronny Deila and his players clinching the title for a little while longer.

I am sure it will be four-in-a-row, but I am uncomfortable reading Ronny talking about aiming to make it 13 consecutive titles.

Now I know from listening to him say the Treble was his target that he likes to put it out there for everyone to know.

I accept Ronny is doing his best to connect with the supporters, and believes this kind of thing is what they want to hear.

It is all very well to have a Deila dream - but reality must rule.

I'd prefer if Ronny concentrated on winning this title, then focused on retaining it next season before he started projecting to 2024.

He has come up with the figure 13 because that was the number of consecutive titles Rosenborg won when he was playing in Norway.

Well, here's an interesting fact for you. Nils Arne Eggen's first defence of the title when he was in charge of Rosenborg was unsuccessful - because I managed Lillestrom to take the crown in my only season there in 1989.

I am keeping my fingers crossed Celtic can win against Dundee tonight, and cross the line tomorrow.

That could set up a weekend double for me as the other club I played for, Chelsea, can also be crowned champions when they play Crystal Palace on Sunday.

They were my predictions at the start of the season to win their respective titles, though the odds offered would not make you very rich.

I felt that, in Jose Mourinho's second season back at Stamford Bridge, they would be too good for Manchester City and the rest.

Jose has made some big calls, none more so than the decision to replace Petr Cech with Thibaut Courtois.

Bringing in Diego Costa to replace Fernando Torres was also a great move.

Jose is so confident in his ability to make the right decisions, and the title will be his reward.
