THE improvement work at the front of Celtic Park is starting to take shape, and it will include an Avenue of Heroes.
I understand this will incorporate a series of busts of famous Celts to add to the statues of Jock Stein, Brother Walfrid and Jimmy Johnstone, plus the plaque commemorating Tommy Burns at the entrance to Paradise.
I am all in favour of celebrating legends, but I'm always wary it can lead to problems over who is included - and, more, controversially, who is not.
How do you decide? Who should decide? I'd be in favour of letting the fans have their say.
But the danger is you are asking today's supporters to vote, and they tend to favour players they have seen or are currently watching.
That can lead to very important characters from the club's earlier years being overlooked, which would be unfair.
