The seemingly-never-ending qualifying route to the Champions League is finally coming to an end.

JOHN FOSTER from Partick wonders if Davie believes the competition should be reduced and solely for champions?

I understand totally why the format is the way it is, and I wouldn't tinker with it.

It's all to do with meeting the demands of TV and trying to get the best teams through to the latter stages.

Other sports, like tennis, use seeding in a similar way.
