When the draw was made for the last 32 of the Europa League and Celtic were paired with Inter Milan, I was asked often how I rated Celtic's chances.

I cover a lot of Inter's game for BT Sport, and there is no doubt that Serie A is still played at a very high standard - despite what league position a club is holding.

But I would have to say now that there is no doubt there is a real negativity enveloping the club. They have won just one game from their last five in all competitions, and their league form has been desperately poor.

In actual fact, they did not too badly at the turn of the year, drawing with Juventus and then beating Genoa, but they have plummeted from then on, and crashed out of the Coppa Italia with a midweek defeat by Napoli.

Despite that, I still think that Celtic won't be favourites for the game - and I don't actually think they would want to be seen as favourites going into it.

It doesn't suit them.

And the one thing that you have to appreciate about Inter's lowly league position is that it makes the Europa League very attractive for Roberto Mancini's side since winning it would secure them a place in the Champions League next season.

It looks highly unlikely that they will do that themselves, and so this competition may assume a significant weight for them now.
