A lot of people have shaped Celtic during their 125 years. But, in my book, the big three were Brother Walfrid, Willie Maley and Jock Stein.
Willie played for the club and then managed for over 50 years when the club was first formed.
He had success, but he also had to endure long periods when Rangers dominated, and never wavered from the challenge of putting Celtic back on top.
I already had huge admiration for Willie before last weekend's ceremony at Cathcart Cemetery, which was attended by a lot of people, the most important of who were the many descendants of the great man.
But, it got me to thinking about just how much he gave to the club.
Like Willie, I also had the good fortune and privilege to play for and manage Celtic.
But, it still brings a huge smile to my face when my name is included in a line of the famous Willie Maley song because his contribution puts that of everyone else into perspective.
