McCall's men will look for reaction

CELTIC are off to Fir Park for their first taste of Friday night football and I imagine they'll want to maintain the same kind of form that saw them dismantle Hearts.

Stuart McCall's side will be hurting after their Scottish Cup exit and had they been playing anyone outwith Celtic tomorrow night then the atmosphere would probably have been a bit flat.

As it is, they'll feel that the game against Celtic might be the ideal way to lift themselves.

I would expect that Celtic will go for the jugular right away. If they can reproduce that form then there are very few teams that could live with them in the SPFL Premiership.

People have spoken of the fact Hearts were a youthful side and were weak opposition, but I think that is unfair to the way Celtic went about their business so ruthlessly.

Believe me, it is never easy to go into a professional game and win 7-0, no matter who you play.

And although there were a few people pointing out Celtic didn't have a striker on the list of scorers, I don't think you could really fault the forward play.

Whether or not it fuels the suggestion that Celtic can go through the full season unbeaten, I don't know.

All it takes is a sticky game where you lose a goal against the run of play or you have an off day and find yourself on the wrong end of a result.

It certainly sends out a message, but the minute you start to shout your mouth off about what you are going to do is the minute you will fall flat on your face.

It is an old cliche but I think it is just about taking each game as it comes and trying to get the league wrapped up as quickly as possible.
