GORDON STRACHAN named his Scotland squad for the games with the Republic of Ireland and England yesterday and, as expected, Celtic's Craig Gordon, Charlie Mulgrew and Scott Brown were all included.

These will be two massive games and ones to really look forward to, but it is the Ireland clash that stands out.

The match against England is a glamour friendly and a chance to renew the Auld Enemy rivalry.

It will be a good occasion because there is always a bit of prestige about playing them.

But the Euro 2016 qualifying tie against Ireland is the one we need to focus on and win as we look to qualify for the finals in France in two years' time.

If we want to get there we'll need to win our home games.Losing to Ireland would not end our chances, but it would make the task of qualifying harder.

I think it will be a tight match, but Scotland have started the campaign well and are more than capable of beating the Republic at Celtic Park.

Gordon and his staff have instilled a lot of belief in the squad and have the team really well organised.

It is important that we get the results to back that up and victory over Martin O'Neill's side would be huge boost for us.

The Irish will have a real Celtic connection with O'Neill and the ex-Bhoys Roy Keane, Aiden McGeady and Robbie Keane all coming back to Glasgow.

But there will certainly be no advantage to them from playing at Parkhead.

The vast majority of fans in the stadium will be supporting Scotland and the Tartan Army will be well up for it.

I am sure there will be an electric atmosphere with 60,000 packed in for what will be a highly competitive match.

A win would mean so much to both teams as they look to qualify from the group. At worst, I think Scotland will get a draw.

But with the squad that Gordon has selected and the form we are in, it is a victory we will be looking for.
