I would like to offer Danny my sincerest congratulations on his appointment into the first-team coaching staff at the club.
He has been involved in youth coaching and the development squad since Wim Jansen was at Celtic and it just goes to show you are never too old to get yourself a promotion! The role is coming to him at a later stage in his life, but I have no doubt Danny will enjoy the challenge of being involved at that level and he certainly has a lot of knowledge to pass on.
Neil Lennon has obviously seen something in Danny that he feels will benefit the senior team and, like I said, there is no-one who knows more about Celtic and what it means than Danny.
I have already spoken to him to pass on my congratulations and I know he's delighted to be involved at that level.
I wish him all the very best and I am certain, too, that he has so much to offer in terms of the coaching side of things.
He is relishing the chance of a fresh challenge and I am sure that the Celtic fans will be delighted to see him in the dug-out and on the training pitch.
