ZALUSKA 6 Will feel he should have done better at Aberdeen's goal, especially when spilling Considine's initial shot.

MATTHEWS 6 Struggled against the pace of Pawlett and was not always on same wavelength as Forrest playing ahead of him on the right flank.

DENAYER 6 Did not appear to relish the physicality of the fixture but stuck to his guns as best he could and used his pace to tidy up.

VAN DIJK 8 Kept calm when others around him were getting hot under the collar. Marshalled his back line, made many important interceptions and clearing headers, then popped up at other end to score winner.

IZAGUIRRE 6 Played with a strapping on the inside of his left thigh, which may explain why he did not make his usual number of forward forays. Booked after reacting to a push in the back from Hayes.

BROWN 7 Just the kind of game the Hoops skipper relishes, and he was at the heart of the battle in the middle of the park. Booked for one-too-many fouls on Pawelett in second half, then sent off for second caution when he impeded McGinn aftr 81 minutes.

MULGREW 6 Lucky to be fit for this game after being the victim of a terrible tackle in Romania, but he more than held his own against his former club.

JOHANSEN 7 Covered miles as he supported forwards and helped out his defence. Made a clever run for his goal, and got his just desserts for refusing to give up on what looked to be a lost cause.

FORREST 6 First start for the wide midfielder since mid-August, and it was inevitable he would run out of steam. But for most of the hour he was on he carried a genuine threat.

GUIDETTI 6 Quiet game by his own high standards. Did not get the best of service but did come in for some heavy treatment from the Dons marking him.

STOKES 6 After missing the Astra game in Romania with a temperature and sore throat, the Irishman worked really hard until replaced with 20 minutes remaining. Booked for reacting to barracking from Aberdeen fans with a silly gesture.

McGREGOR 5 Replaced Forrest for final half hour but had to do more defending than attacking.

GRIFFITHS 4 On for Stokes in the closing stages but didn't manage to get sight of the Dons' goal.

LUSTIG 4 Helped Hoops see out final 12 minutes.
