Cheers for Fras...first win of year in the can

FORSTER 8 Called into action after 13 minutes to make diving save from Bannigan, then even better instinctive stop from Elliot's free header at back post.

Completed hat-trick with good save from Craigan's header into bottom corner.

MATTHEWS 7 So intent on pushing upfield, Thistle were able to play in space he left behind, with Taylor-Sinclair happy to fill the void. Sat deeper second half and made important clearance off line from Lawless shot in final minutes.

AMBROSE 7 Allowed himself to be pulled around as Thistle darted intelligently and incessantly in front of him during opening 45 minutes. Settled down after break.

VAN DIJK 7 Usually-dominant Dutch defender struggled to deal with early crosses into box. Overcame stuttering start to regain composure.

IZAGUIRRE 6 Falling back into some bad habits, occasionally careless in possession and often inaccurate with crossing.

BROWN 6 As Lennon's on-field lieutenant, had to try and re-organise midfield to cope with Thistle's bright start. Booked for foul on Higginbotham.

MULGREW 6 Welcome return after groin injury, but looked a little rusty. One trademark free kick which whistled just over before going off midway through second half.

COMMONS 7 Showed his intent to push past 15-goal mark with early free kick screamer from 32 yards which was well saved. But, overall, not quite as effective as last year.

LEDLEY 7 Took a little time to get into the game, but announced arrival with opening goal, a low strike from 25 yards. Survived ambitious penalty claim by Jags when collided with Elliot on edge of area.

FORREST 5 Found it tough to get past Thistle defenders, in particular, right-back O'Donnell. Desperately in need of a big performance for confidence.

PUKKI 5 Very early chance with header, tipped over by Fox. Keeper also denied him when fired in decent drive after break. Made way for Stokes for last quarter.

SAMARAS 4 Replaced Mulgrew after 67 minutes, but made little impact.

STOKES 4 Came on for Pukki with 23 minutes to go. Hungry for the ball, but saw little of it.

BITON 2 Got last three minutes for Commons.
