Kris Commons was last night called up by Scotland for the World Cup qualifiers against Wales and Belgium.
The Celtic forward replaces Blackburn Rovers' Jordan Rhodes, who has withdrawn along with Norwich City midfielder Robert Snodgrass.
Both players reported for duty with ankle injuries and will return to their clubs for treatment.
Commons last appeared for Scotland in May 2011 and has been consistently overlooked by Craig Levein, who last week said the player was "really unlucky" to miss out on selection for the original squad.
