RONNY DEILA is convinced his new-look Celtic side will eventually gel - despite seeing his side win only one of their last seven games.

The Hoops' league woes continued yesterday as they fought back from a goal down to grab a fighting 1-1 draw at home to Motherwell.

But the Celtic manager refuses to panic, and has vowed to get do all in his power to get the Hoops back on the winning track when they face Hearts in the League Cup on Wednesday.

He said: "The performance and the scores are saying where we are at the moment. So of course people get more confidence that they can get something when they play against us.

"But we are going into a process where we will be better offensively and defensively. Against Motherwell, we met a team who were very hard to break down because they were very organised and sat deep.

"But I know that, with more training and given time to get to know one another better, my team will get quicker, and this will help us."

For the SPFL game against Motherwell, Deila made six changes to his starting XI from the side which held Salzburg to a draw on Thursday.

Some of this was forced, with Stefan Johansen and Wakaso Mubarak both picking up knocks in the Europa League opener.

Deila hopes to have both players fit to face Hearts and intends to field his strongest side for a competition he wants to win.

He is fully aware that exiting the League Cup in their opening match - which they did last season when shocked by Morton - would be a huge setback to his push for transition at the club.

Which is why he will treat it every bit as seriously as he did last week's Europa league opener in Salzburg.

He said: "We are going to go with everything we have in this game.

"Our dream is to win the Treble. So this cup is important to us and we are going to go with our strongest team in this game."

Deila remains hopeful that he can include Wakaso Mubarak in that.

The Ghanaian scored Celtic's opener in Salzburg in what was a very impressive debut for the Hoops.

But the nippy winger picked up a knock in the game in Austria which did not respond in time to allow him to face Motherwell.

"Wakaso got an ankle injury in our last game, which is why he missed this one," reported Deila.

"I hope he is okay for Wednesday."
