SCOTT BROWN reckons Ronny Deila is getting closer to discovering his best starting XI, writes Scott Mullen.

The Norwegian radically changed the team which played Motherwell on Sunday from the one that claimed a 2-2 draw in Salzburg last week, with six new faces brought in to face the Steelmen.

Criticism followed as the Hoops stumbled to a 1-1 draw at Parkhead, but Brown believes the new boss has been right to chop and change his starting XI during the campaign.

The Scotland midfielder understands that dealing with the pressures of performing at Paradise are a world apart from lighting up a training pitch at Lennoxtown.

Brown said: "It's a new manager and he needs to see the faces of the players and he needs to know what they're like under pressure.

"Eventually, the gaffer will pick a strong team and stick with it - I'm sure he has a good idea of what his starting 11 is going to be against Hearts.

"You can't just judge players on training. It's a different aspect all together. I could be Maradona at training but bricking myself in front of 60,000 people.

"It's about how you cope with fans booing you or applauding you, fans getting on your back and stuff like that. If you can take it at this club then you will make it at this club."
