ABERDEEN boss Derek McInnes has warned his players they will meet a fully-focused Celtic side at Parkhead today.

The man who was sparked a revival on Deeside since taking over this season reckons Neil Lennon's Bhoys have proved they now know how not to be distracted by massive Champions League ties, like Tuesday's must-win match against AC Milan.

McInnes said: "Celtic have shown already this season they are coping with the demands being put on them.

"So I don't want anyone going into the game hoping Celtic might be distracted from doing their job against us. That would be naive and unprofessional.

"Any time you go to Celtic Park you have to make sure you perform the very best you can. We will certainly have to defend well over the full 90 minutes.

"Every time I have gone to Celtic Park, as a player or a manager, the days we got decent results were when the defence and goalkeeper were at their very best."

McInnes continued: "Players need to show enough confidence to hold on to the ball if you hope to do well there.

"We are going to have to go down there with the belief we're good enough to get a result.

"The players can be in no doubt that Celtic will be professional and determined as they bid to take care of us."

McInnes has dragged the Dons up to third spot in the top flight, and will be without some of his big hitters, including suspended Barry Robson and the injured Willo Flood and Chris Clark.

But Josh Magennis has recovered from a thigh injury and will support former Celt, Niall McGinn, in posing a goal threat.

McInnes is confident the team he sends out will be able to cope with Lennon's free-scoring side - provided they can keep 11 players on the park.

Celtic defeated the Dons 2-0 at Pittodrie in August, but only got on top after keeper Jamie Langfield - who has signed a new contract - was shown a red card just before half-time for bringing down Georgios Samaras, with Kris Commons converting the spot-kick.

Aberdeen were also reduced to 10 men when they lost 3-1 to Hearts before the international break, the experienced Robson collecting two yellow cards.

McInnes will remind his players of the importance of discipline in the white-hot atmosphere at Parkhead and said: "We need to make sure we keep 11 men on the pitch, especially against top-quality sides like Celtic.

"There was nothing in the 2-0 game until we were reduced to 10 men. That's been the case a few times this season, which has been disappointing. It's something the players must note going into the match.

"If we do that, we'll have a better chance of making it as difficult as we want it to be for them."
