The forward is set to win his fourth cap for Billy Stark's Under-21 side when they face Greece this afternoon in Korinthos.
While Stark's babes are sweating it out on the continent, Strachan will take charge of the full team for the first time when we face Estonia at Pittodrie.
The former Parkhead boss selected a tried-and-trusted squad for his maiden match as manager, but McGeouch hopes the best of the young stars will soon be given a chance to shine.
He said: "There are a lot of good players in the squad and players that are playing every week for their first teams.
"It is important we have a good standard of young player and hopefully we can continue to do well.
"When a new manager comes in, he will want to look at all the players available to him. It is good for me and everyone else in the squad.
"If we can do well and keep improving at U21 level then hopefully we can push on and make our debuts for the full national team."
The Greek test this afternoon will give Stark the chance to work with an inexperienced group once more.
Stuart Armstrong of Dundee United leads the way with 11 caps but the likes of Stuart Bannigan and Stephen O'Donnell of Partick Thistle, Kilmarnock's Rory McKenzie and McGeouch's Parkhead team-mate Robbie Thomson are set for their debuts.
Despite failing to qualify for the 2013 European Championships, Stark has a strong pool of players from which to pick and McGeouch hopes he can make the most of his chance to impress.
He said: "I am looking forward to it. It is nice to get away from the rain and the snow.
"It is great to be involved with the squad and to be recognised by Billy and the staff.
"It is nice when people see your ability and want you to be in their squad.
"I am looking forward to the game and hopefully I can impress. Everyone is fighting for a place in the team just now.
"All the players in the squad are happy to be involved but we all want to be in the starting XI.
"I want to be playing in every game I can and I am sure we will all push each other on."
THE 20-year-old added: "I have not been playing as much recently so hopefully I can get some game time in Greece and take that back to Celtic and push on there.
"I have played a few reserve games for the club as well as coming off the bench for the first team.
"It is always nice to be involved in and around the team. Hopefully I can get a run and kick on."
