Commons has been outstanding for Neil Lennon's side this season and has scored 16 goals for them in all competitions.

And the 30-year-old's strikes have helped the Hoops go undefeated in the Scottish top flight.

They are currently 10 points ahead of nearest rivals Aberdeen in the league table - with two games in hand.

But Commons, who is set to line-up against Motherwell today, is refusing to accept the Parkhead club have retained their title.

He said: "I wouldn't say it is over. Opposition teams don't just let us score willy-nilly.

"Anywhere you look, you have got hot favourites, people who are expected to win, people who might be the dark horses who come through.

"But, with the signings we have made and the stature we have at the minute, we are the one force in the league that people would look at and say it's inevitable (to become champions).

"But, it's not a case of the players taking that approach to games.

"We want to win, and win well, and win the league as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, Commons has revealed that knowing how to deal with the demands of European football has helped Celtic be more consistent domestically this term.

But he felt they knew how to handle returning to domestic competition better and avoided suffering from a European hangover and added: "The difference with last season is that the squad was relatively inexperienced in trying to balance both the league and the Champions League up.

"We kind of knew going into games that we could lose the odd point here and there. If you are not focused on winning games, then you will get done."
