CRAIG Gordon has dismissed predictions Celtic will romp the League Cup semi-final with Rangers - and insisted their Glasgow rivals have enough quality to triumph.

Bookmakers have installed the Scottish champions as overwhelming favourites to defeat their SPFL Championship rivals at Hampden this Sunday.

Ronny Deila's side is three points clear in the Premiership and in the knockout stages of the Europa League - while Kenny McDowall's team is fighting to win promotion to the top flight.

But Scotland internationalist Gordon, who will be taking part in the fixture for the first team, believes the Ibrox club have plenty of players who can hurt the Hoops.

He said: "I don't feel there is added pressure on us.

"Rangers still have enough quality in their team to win a game. So we'll be looking at ourselves and our preparation.

"It's not just experience Rangers have, but good, quality players, too.

"There is experience and quality and we'll have to be wary of that, as well as causing our own problems.

"Is it a 50-50 game? They probably always are, regardless of who is playing for the two sides.

"It's a semi-final and a massive match, but it would be massive anyway.

"The form book goes out of the window in Celtic vs Rangers matches and there are two sides with 11 men desperate to win the game. When you have that, anything can happen."

Gordon has played in numerous Edinburgh derby matches between Hearts and Hibs and in the Tyne-Wear derby between Sunderland and Newcastle United.

"The 32-year-old is looking forward to being involved with Celtic against Rangers - and admitted it would be the biggest club match he had taken part in.

He said: "I would think it will be the biggest derby I'll have been involved in.

"I can't speak too much about because I have never previously played in it and it'll be a new experience for me.

"I've played in some big matches both internationally and at club level and I'm really looking forward to experiencing this one."
