JOHN GUIDETTI hopes Kris Commons can help him hit the goal trail for Celtic this season.

The Swede made his Hoops bow in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen on Saturday as strikes from Jason Denayer and Commons clinched the three points for Ronny Deila's side.

After a protracted switch from Manchester City, it was a moment to savour for Guidetti as he finally got the chance to make his first appearance.

The striker is ineligible for the Europa League clash with Salzburg tomorrow night after paperwork was not completed in time to register him.

But he is determined to start finding the net for his new club as quickly as possible.

Guidetti said: "The ovation from the support was fantastic and I wanted to score one to give something back to them.

"I have a target for goals in my head but I won't share it. It's a personal target.

"I'm not the type of striker that will just go on a solo run and chase the goals because if someone is in a better position then that person should have the ball 10 out of 10 times.

"So it's important that you play for the team because if you do that then goals will come automatically.

"The manager expects me to score goals, which is a good thing. I believe in myself and my ability.

"When I get into things a bit more and start clicking with my team-mates they will know the types of runs I make and I will know how they pass and I think this can be a perfect match.

"When you see how someone like Kris Commons creates, it's perfect. He's a great player. I think we can work really well because he has a great left foot and I think it can be a good partnership."
