INTER MILAN defender Davide Santon has revealed his former Newcastle team-mate, Rangers loan kid Haris Vuckic, will give him the lowdown on Celtic ahead of Thursday's Europa League showdown.

The Italians are set to train at Rangers' Murray Park base on the morning of the game before they face the Hoops in the first leg at Parkhead.

And former St James' Park full-back Santon will seek the help of one of Rangers' five loan players they have borrowed from Mike Ashley's Newcastle.

The Slovenian international netted on his Rangers debut when he scored in the Scottish Cup defeat to Raith Rovers.

And Santon - who also left Newcastle last month - will quiz his former colleague about Celtic and Scottish football.

Santon said: "I have already spoken to Haris since he moved to Glasgow, but I will give him a call again this week. I haven't talked to him about Celtic yet, but I will ask him some questions in the next couple of days.

"I will find out what he thinks about them and if he can give us any advice. But even if he tells me that Celtic have a strong team, I know that we also have quality players.

"We are going there with confidence and I believe we can win in Glasgow. It will be tough, but with the players we have, nothing is impossible.

"I know Vuckic well and I am happy he has been playing at Rangers. I noticed he scored on his debut and he will do well there. He is a good player, he has qualities and can become a big player for Rangers."

Inter warmed up for their trip to Scotland by recording an impressive 4-1 win at Atalanta - the first time they had won back-to-back league games since October.

And the Italy international, who has impressed since rejoining the club for his second spell at the San Siro, believes Inter are hitting form at the right time.

But he expects a tough test in Glasgow. He said: "This is a massive game for both clubs. The Europa League is very important for Inter. Winning this competition is one of our main targets for the season.

"We will go to Glasgow, play our strongest team, do our best and try to win this game. If we do that, it will give us a good chance of getting through to the next round.

"I know a lot about the history of Celtic and they have always been a good team in European football. They have a massive stadium with fantastic fans and an incredible atmosphere.

"It's difficult for any team to go to Celtic Park and win there. We have seen that over the years. Celtic are very strong at home. But we are playing well, we have confidence and we have to win the game.

"I know a couple of the Celtic players, but I am aware that they are a strong team. They are probably the best in Scotland and have won the league for the last few years.

"We will spend the next few days looking at Celtic, but we already know that it will be a tough game for us.

"We will have to play at our best in Glasgow to get a result. All the players know that."
