CELTIC midfielder Stefan Johansen believes Hoops fans will see Ronny Deila's approach bear fruit in the coming weeks - just like it did in Norway.

The Parkhead outfit have struggled for consistency under their new boss and sit fifth in the SPFL Premiership.

But Saturday's 5-0 win over Ross County at Dingwall showed that they can turn on the style when things click.

And Johansen - who won the Norwegian title under Deila at Stroms-godset in 2013 - feels the manager's system will come good in Scotland.

The 23-year-old playmaker said: "The gaffer has some things he wants to see from his team.

"They are details like playing from the back, attacking full-backs and keeping possession.

"There are a few things there that we always need to work on as a team.

"The manager's been doing this from day one and he is still doing it. I think the team is starting to understand.

"Of course, this takes time. We have 20 players who have to adapt to it.

"But now we are starting to see how he wants the team to play."

Deila took Johansen from Bodo/Glimt to his Stromsgodset side in 2011 before he joined Celtic in January this year.

And the player is sure his fellow-Norwegian will win over his doubters and make a success of his new role with the Scottish champions.

Johansen said: "He is challenging people and that's good. He is doing the right thing.

"He wants us to play the attacking football the fans want to see. We just need to work hard and it will be good in the end.

"You are starting to see the team adapt to what he wants and it's starting to look good now."

Celtic will hope for another win when they host Romania's FC Astra in the Europa League tomorrow. So far they've drawn in Salzburg and beaten Dinamo Zagreb.

Johansen added: "We had a good start in our Europa League group, but then lost to Hamilton. We shouldn't have lost that.

"But we bounced back straight away and we want to keep it that way. If we win tomorrow it will look good for us to get to the next round."
