JUVENTUS look set to splash £5million on Italy international Federico Peluso in time to face Celtic in the Champions League.
The Serie A leaders are desperate to bolster their backline ahead of facing the Hoops on February 12 with inspirational stopper Giorgio Chiellini injured and expected to miss at least the first leg clash.
But they have already had an initial £3m bid turned down for the Atalanta defender, who can play in the centre or as a left-back.
But they will come back again this week and are expected to meet Atalanta's asking price of £5million.
Peluso has been in excellent form for the Bergamo club and is Juve's No.1 winter target.
With Atalanta not in Europe, he will be eligible to face Neil Lennon's men in the Champions League. And Juve will demonstrate their huge spending power to land the 28-year-old.
