LEIGH Griffiths today urged Celtic not to surrender top spot in the SPFL Premiership again this season after helping them leapfrog Aberdeen.

Griffiths netted the Scottish champions' second goal in a convincing 4-0 triumph over struggling Motherwell at Parkhead last night.

And the 24-year-old, who took his tally for the 2014/15 campaign to five, is determined for Ronny Deila's team to remain in pole position.

He said: "We want to be at the top of the league and we want to stay there. But Aberdeen are a good side and they will be there right to the end."

Griffiths, though, believes the return of action of Mikael Lustig, who netted a stunning second half double in his first game in over two months, will help his side's bid for fourth consecutive Scottish title. He said: "Mikael got two last night and he probably should have had the perfect hat-trick.

"Mikael is like that in training. He likes to get forward and score goals.

"I am just pleased he has got back after a horrible injury. He has been back training for a while now.

It is good to see him back and in amongst the goals. "He got 45 minutes under his belt and two goals and that will set him up nicely for the remainder of the season.

"We have got pretty much a full squad entering a crucial spell.

"We have got a lot of big games coming up. I think the manager will have a real selection dilemma.

"The attacking options we have got are the club great. "As I say, he manager has got a selection dilemma. Whoever he plays up front will be doing well. Hopefully I have done enough to retain my position in the side."
