Ronny Deila will not allow any of his players to take time off during the season, even if Celtic wrap up the SPFL title with weeks to spare.

The Parkhead side are chasing down a domestic Treble and Deila will keep the players fully focused on the current season before allowing them to down tools.

Should Celtic overcome Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup later this month they will face a cup final date at Hampden 30th May - and despite the elongation of the season, Deila will keep his players ticking over.

Given that a significant percentage of his squad will then go on international duty for Fifa World Cup qualifiers, it will mean a short amount of down time before preparations begin in earnest for the Uefa Champions League qualifiers.

"No. Everybody is going to be here," said Deila when asked if key players could be given dispensation for time off if and when the league is won. "Hopefully we are going to win the Treble and that is the main target.

"Our dream and hope is to get to the Scottish Cup Final and win it. If we do that, then we will be playing our last game of this season on 30 May.

"After the cup final, the players will get three weeks holiday. If they are playing internationals in June, they will get one week more. So players like Scott Brown and Stefan [Johansen] would come back on 1 July.

"In three weeks, you can't ruin too much. It is just positive for their bodies to rest. They know what is coming when they come back to training."

Despite the fact that the squad will remain intact until the season comes to a close, Deila is keen to get the league won as quickly as possible.

The Parkhead side have opened up a five-point gap over Aberdeen and still have a game in hand over Derek McInnes's side.

"We want to win it as soon as possible," said Deila. "The games coming up now are important games but we have good momentum now.

"We play good football, we train well, there is good harmony in the squad. I am comfortable we are going to keep performing well.

"The Champions League is so important. We want to win the league and get into the Champions League group stage, that's our main target."

Celtic take on relegation strugglers St Mirren this evening in Paisley and Deila is looking for his side to take further strides towards the Championship.

With some players enjoying time off while international games were taking place, Deila expects his side to turn the screw on a demoralised Saints side.

"That is what I expect - a good performance," he said. "We have a lot of players who have been rested a lot and should be ready for the game."
