TREBLE-chasing Celtic boss Ronny Deila wants his stars to shoot at an extra target this season.

The Norwegian not only wants to add the Premiership title and the Scottish Cup to the League Cup already secured, he also wants one of his players to be crowned Scotland's goal king.

It's a huge ask, given that Aberdeen's Adam Rooney has already bagged 25 goals, and shows no sign of slowing up.

Celtic's leading marksman is John Guidetti, but the Swede is 11 behind Rooney.

Pushing Guidetti to be top Hoops hitman is Kris Commons on 12 - 19 down on the total he got last season. Leigh Griffiths is one further back, despite his goal-den spell in recent weeks.

Another man who has become a regular on the scoresheet, Stefan Johansen, is the only other Celt in double figures, while Anthony Stokes is three back on seven.

That's just one better than central defender, Jason Denayer - and one fewer than Virgil van Dijk.

Deila watched seven different players score their nine goals in the last three games against Dundee United.

And he is is delighted so many Bhoys are contributing to their tally for theseason which has now reached 103 in 50 games in all competitions.

But the Hoops boss still wants to see someone burst from the pack to get to the top of Scotland's scoring charts. He said: "We need strikers who are up there. We want to have the top-scorer title. So that is something we can improve on.

"But it's important that everyone scores goals, and we have a number of players who are in double figures."

The champions will look to get back on the goal trail - and extend their lead in the Premiership to eight points -when they regroup after the break for internationals.

The Hoops have 10 games to go in the league, and return to action against St Mirren in Paisley a week tonight.

That will be the first of six games in 19 days, including the Scottish Cup semi-final against Inverness Caley Thistle on April 19.

Deila plans to use his squad to cope with this heavy schedule.

But he will have to find a new man to lead the side out against Partick Thistle a week on Wednesday as Scott Brown is suspended for that league match.

The skipper picked up his sixth league booking of the season in last weekend's 3-0 win over Dundee United.

That triggered a one-game ban, which kicks in two weeks after he passed through the disciplinary threshold.

Anthony Stokes must also sit out another game, the cup semi-final at Hampden.

The red card shown against Dundee United at the end of their cup replay last week brought him a two-match suspension.

The first part of the punishment was an immediate ban, causing him to miss last weekend's league game against United.

But the second is competition specific, which means he has to miss the next Scottish Cup tie.
