SCOTT BROWN believes the current Celtic squad is strong enough to clinch a place in the Champions League group stages - even if Ronny Deila does not add any more players.

The Norwegian will attempt to bring in at least one more central defender and another striker over the summer, but skipper Brown is confident the Hoops already have what it takes.

"I think the squad is very good, we're fit, we're strong and, if the gaffer adds one or two, that'll be brilliant. If not, we're definitely good enough the way we are," he said.

Meanwhile, after lifting his fourth Premiership title as Celtic captain, Brown was in celebratory mood.

The 29-year-old will get a week off to chill out before meeting up with Gordon Strachan's Scotland squad, and he was keen to savour the moment of the title party.

However, he did hint that Celtic are not ready to relinquish their domestic dominance.

"It's great, every one you lift is, but especially when you are going for so many in a row it's extra special," he said. "If we can do it next year again it'll be even more so."

And Brown has urged Stefan Scepovic, who netted twice in the 5-0 defeat of Inverness Caley, to heed the lessons of Leigh Griffiths this season.

"Stefan did really well and he worked hard," said Brown. "That is what the gaffer asked of him, to work hard and the chances will come.

"Leigh can be an example. Scepovic has been in and out of the side and has not played a lot recently, but again comes in from nowhere and scores two goals with a great performance.

"Leigh's had a great season. He didn't start so well, but the way he has come in the second part has been fantastic.

"He is so sharp. You saw against Inverness that he gets one shot at goal and he scores. It's brilliant to have a striker like that to start or come off the bench.

"Over the entire season for us, he's been superb. It's always hard when you are not in the starting eleven or even the squad as he was in the stands a couple of times.

"But he thought he had to give it a go as he believes in himself. To go out there and put that jersey on means a lot to him."

And Brown fully expects second-placed Aberdeen will push Celtic again next term.

Derek McInness' side maintained their challenge until April and, while there was little tension regarding just where the title would go, they did succeed in keeping up some pressure on Celtic.

"Aberdeen will come again, but we showed our class and how good we are and that we thrive under pressure," said Brown."There was a lot of talk a couple of months ago and Aberdeen have had a fantastic season.

"But we knew when we got everyone fit we would be strong and that 100 per cent we would win this league.

"It was hard at times as we were games behind, but as soon as we got the games back and the tally the same, we believed we would win it and you need to have that inside everyone in the dressing room."
