SIX Celtic stars have been named in the PFA Scotland Premiership team of the year.

The Hoops are closing in on the top flight crown under boss Ronny Deila this term and several Parkhead players are in the running for personal accolades to go along with the silverware they have set their sights on.

The Premiership best 11 was announced yesterday and half-a-dozen of the Hoops' top performers - Craig Gordon, Virgil van Dijk, Jason Denayer, Stuart Armstrong, Scott Brown and Stefan Johansen - have landed spots in the side.

Second-placed Aberdeen have two players - Shay Logan and Adam Rooney - in the team while Graeme Shinnie, Nadir Ciftci and Greg Stewart complete the line-up.

The PFA team is voted for by players across the country and there could be more recognition to come for some of the Parkhead stars tomorrow night.

Defender Van Dijk and midfielder Johansen are vying for the Player of the Year gong while Denayer is in the running for the Young Player prize.

Boss Deila will also discover if he has been rewarded by his peers as he goes up against Derek McInnes of Aberdeen, Inverness manager John Hughes and title-winning Hearts gaffer Robbie Neilson for the Manager of the Year award.
