RONNY DEILA is sure that Stefan Scepovic will score many more goals for Celtic after he broke his duck in Thursday's Europa League win over Astra Giurgiu.

The 24-year-old Serbian striker had failed to hit the net in his first six games for the Hoops after signing from Sporting Gijon for £2.3million in the summer.

But after heading a cross from Anthony Stokes past the Romanian keeper in the 73rd minute he celebrated with as much relief as joy.

His manager revealed he was delighted for Scepovic and believes there is much more to come from the 6ft 1in frontman.

Deila said: "Stefan was very tense before the game, I could see it in him.

"So there was a big relief when he scored. You can imagine what you feel when you get your first goal. I was very happy for him.

"But I know what a scorer he is. It is not the last goal we will see from him.

"We know what he has. I can see in training that he's good on the ball and scores goals. Stefan really wants to perform for this club.

"And now he will become more confident as well."

Deila believes 10 points could be enough to qualify from Group D and reach the knockout stages but insists there is a long way to go.

He said: "I take nothing for granted. We have a lot of hard work to do in Europe, with two tough away games and a difficult home match.

"We need to be at our best if we are to go through."
