Many Hoops fans felt that the arrival of Griffths at Parkhead in the January transfer window would limit the chances Stokes would get.

But the Irishman, who had only bagged four goals in the first half of the season, has netted 12 times since Neil Lennon signed the Scot.

And the striker reckons having the former Hibs forward, along with PFA Scotland Player of the Year Kris Commons up front, has brought the best out in him.

He told Celtic TV: "Since Leigh has come in it has helped me because it gives me a little bit more space up front.

"He's dragging defenders around and making great runs and I think his goals return has been brilliant as well.

"But when you have Kris (Commons) coming into the hole and Leigh making runs, it makes more space."
